Two Arrested for Dog Fighting in Waukon

WAUKON - Two men were arrested for dog fighting Sunday after police executed a search warrant at a Waukon home.

Derek G. Thompson, 19, and Michael J. Kalish, 18, both of Waukon, were arrested in connection with animal contest events (dog fighting) and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Both men were booked into the Allamakee County Jail, and the dogs were seized. The incident is still under investigation, and further charges may be filed, police said.

The Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office assisted Waukon police at the scene.
