DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — A six-way House Republican primary for a district representing part of Ankeny is unresolved after none of the candidates received the required 35 percent of the vote to win outright.
Primary races in which no candidate reaches the threshold go to a special nominating convention of central committee members called by the party chairman.
House District 37 votes will be canvassed June 25 to ensure the count doesn't change.
On Tuesday, Jim Robidoux received 34.39 percent. Matt Devries had 29.72 percent and John Landon 17.34 percent. Jeffery Wright had 15.41. The remaining two candidates received less than 2 percent.
Candidates may speak at the convention, then the central committee votes.
The Associated Press initially named Robidoux the winner but withdrew the call after he didn't reach the 35 percent threshold.
