PETERSBURG - A 44-year-old man died died Thursday of injuries suffered when he fell from a ladder inside a grain bin at his farm south of Petersburg.

Rescue units from Dyersville, Colesburg and Earlville, dispatched to the farm shortly before noon Thursday. When they arrived on the scene, they found Michael Bagge, 44, dead on the floor of the bin, according to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.

An investigation revealed that Bagge had been on a ladder in an overhead grain bin inside a corn crib when the base of the ladder slipped, throwing the victim to the bin floor, the Sheriff’s Office said.
