Trial delayed for Cedar Rapids murder suspect

CEDAR RAPIDS - The trial of a Cedar Rapids man facing life in prison for a murder at the downtown Roosevelt will be delayed another 5 months.

25-year-old Christopher Schmidt's trial was scheduled to begin in April.

It has now been reset for September.

Schmidt is accused in the beating death of Robert Nelson, 24, back on December 28th.

Schmidt has entered a plea of not guilty.
