MONONA - A single vehicle crash killed one person and sent several others to the hospital.

The Iowa State Patrol says a Toyota truck driven by Chad Feller, 21, of Prairie Du Chien was traveling on Shuttle Creek Road around 2:50 p.m. Monday when the driver lost control.

The truck hit a ditch embankment, rolled, and stopped in the middle of the roadway.

A passenger, David Kirschbaum, 27, of Prairie Du Chien, was killed. Two other passengers, and the driver, were taken to nearby hospitals. Their conditions aren't immediately available.

The driver and at least two of the passengers, including Kirschbaum, were not wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

The crash occurred northeast of Monona in rural Allamakee county.
