CEDAR RAPIDS - It's been more than a year since 50 ducks were stoned to death in a Cedar Rapids park.

On Thursday, TV9 talked to the man who manages the park where the ducks were stoned.

Police arrested Zachary Kanellis, 19, of Cedar Rapids in connection to the case. Workers discovered the dead ducks at Bever Park Children's zoo in June of 2008. Police say Kanellis stoned the ducks to death in their cage and in a nearby pond.

"We feel pretty good that if they have the right person and the justice system works as it should, there is going to be some retribution for this act," said Dave Smith, Cedar Rapids Parks Superintendent.

Smith says the duck exhibit at Beaver Park Zoo is up and running again, ready for visitors.
