Hearing Delayed for Teen Charged in Toddler's DeathRelated Content
CHARLES CITY (AP) - A hearing for a teenager charged in the death of a 3-year-old girl in Charles City has been delayed until an interpreter can be found.
Fourteen-year-old Edgar Concepcion Jr. is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree sexual abuse in the July 10 death of Krystel Banes. A hearing on whether Concepcion will be tried as an adult was postponed Thursday in Floyd County District Court. His defense attorney told the judge that Concepcion and his parents don't understand English well enough to comprehend what is said in court. Prosecutors didn't dispute Concepcion's right to an interpreter, or having the state pay for it. More Good Stuff |
