BUTLER COUNTY - A lawyer for the man accused of killing Aplington-Parkersburg football coach Ed Thomas says he's unfit to stand trial. Mark Becker is charged with first degree in the shooting death of Coach Thomas on June 25th.

Court documents report that Dr. Dan Rogers informed Becker's attorney he was unfit to stand trial after a psychological evaluation.

The Iowa Attorney General's Office is expected to ask the court to authorize a separate psychological evaluation. If the Court finds probable cause, the court ordinarily would set a competency hearing in the near future to determine if the defendant is competent to stand trial.
