Three Displaced After Fire at Home in Atkins

ATKINS – Firefighters in Atkins rushed to a home early Sunday afternoon to find flames coming from the second story.

The blaze broke out at this home at 314 2nd Avenue around 12:30.

Firefighters were still on scene four hours later keeping an eye on hot spots.

The American Red Cross says the three adults who live here are staying with family until the smoke damage is cleaned.

No one was injured in the fire. No word yet on a cause.

Fire crews from Atkins, Newhall, Shellsburg and Fairfax assisted at the scene.
