Teen Struck by Truck While Biking Along Highway

WAPELLO COUNTY - A Ford truck and two bicyclists were traveling along highway 63 north of Ottumwa just before 5:00 p.m. Wednesday when the incident occurred.
The Iowa State Patrol says the driver of the truck, Mitchell Fulton, 19, of Richland, IA was distracted by a vehicle in the passing lane when he veered onto the edge of the road.
Fulton's truck struck Nathaniel Walden, 14, of Batesville, AR. Walden was taken by ambulance to an Ottumwa hospital.
The two bicyclists were riding on the edge of the shoulder and wearing reflective gear. The other bicyclist wasn't injured, Walden's condition isn't available.
