Law Enforcement Remembers Deputy Taylor

CEDAR RAPIDS - The Cedar Rapids area remembered Mark Taylor Tuesday, and the 23 years he served as a Linn County sheriff's deputy, .

Law officers from around the state attended Deputy Taylor's visitation.

He died Friday when his patrol car crashed, brought on by a heart attack. Taylor was 46 years old.

Colleagues say the community always respected him.

" He was very well liked by the public, I know I received several calls from the public especially since his death that appreciated him when he investigated an accident or took a call for service," said Linn County Sheriff Brian Gardner.

Taylor's funeral will be Wednesday at 10:00 am at the First Assembly of God Church in Cedar Rapids.
