Homemade Helicopter Goes Down Near Arlington

FAYETTE COUNTY - A helicopter went down on G Ave, just SW of Arlington.

Officials found a Rotoway 162F, which is a small homemade ultra light helicopter, in a field just off the roadway.

The pilot, Thomas Jones, 61, of Hudson, said he lost power but was able to set the chopper down without incident. Jones had his grandson with him at the time. No one was injured.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says they will continue to look into the incident.
