Washington 9th Grader Drowns in Iowa River

LOUISA COUNTY - Louisa County Sheriff’s office says 9th grader Clinton Fankhauser drowned Wednesday morning at 1:08 a.m. on the Iowa River near Fredonia.

He was swimming with friends and it is believed the current was too strong. An autopsy is pending.

Fankhauser was a 9th grade student at Washington Community Schools. Grievance counselors will be at the Junior High Wednesday night from 4-6:00 p.m.
