81-year-old Grinnell Man Sentenced on Porn Charges

DES MOINES (AP) - An 81-year-old Grinnell man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison on federal child pornography charges.

The U.S. attorney's office says Charles Darnell was sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court in Des Moines.

Officials say a search of Darnell's house uncovered about 1,900 images and videos of child pornography on his computer. He pleaded guilty to the receipt of child pornography in February 2008.
