Trial Date Set in Coach Ed Thomas Murder

Mark Becker, 24, of Parkersburg, has been charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of Ed Thomas.

BUTLER COUNTY - We now know the trial date for the man accused of killing longtime Aplington-Parkersburg High School head football coach Ed Thomas.

Prosecutors say Mark Becker, 24, shot Thomas several times at close range last month in the Aplington-Parkersburg temporary weight room.

The charges against Becker are first degree murder and attempting to elude.

Becker's trial date is set for 9 a.m. on September 15th for the first degree murder charge, and 9 a.m on October 27th for the attempting to elude charge.
