Woman Facing Charges After Driving Stolen Car Around Police Barricades

By Aaron Hepker

CEDAR RAPIDS - While police were on the scene of a deadly crash on Highway 30 in Cedar Rapids, officers say a car drove past two squad cars with flashing lights, as well as officers directing traffic.

Police say the car finally stopped when the driver saw the crash scene. Cheryl Rosenberg, 39, of Paia, Hawaii, told police she didn't stop for the flashing lights because she is "not from around here".

It turns out the car was reported stolen in Quincy, Ill. Rosenberg was jailed on suspicion of second-degree theft, driving with no insurance and failure to comply with a police order.
