LINN COUNTY - Interstate 380 southbound has reopened south of Cedar Rapids after a two-vehicle wreck caused police to reroute traffic for nearly an hour.

Police said a car and a semi-trailer truck collided by the Wright Brothers Boulevard SW overpass around 9:30 a.m. An adult and small child had minor injuries but they were not taken to a hospital by ambulance.

Southbound traffic clogged for miles, and at one point was backed up past Highway 30. Police detoured vehicles off the interstate and back on at the Wright Brothers Boulevard interchange.

Police reported a few near-misses as some motorists were cut through the median into northbound traffic.

The road was cleared around 10:20 a.m.
