Careless Smoking Likely Cause of Fire at Hardwood Tech in Marion

MARION - Firefighters say a sprinkler system probably saved a Marion business from burning to the ground Thursday night. Marion Firefighters were called to 850 44th street around 9:30PM Thursday.

The building belongs to Hardwood Technologies. The company makes cabinets and other wood products. There was *no one inside of the building* at the time of the fire and no one was hurt. Firefighters say it could have been a lot worse.

Investigators say the fire was caused by careless smoking.
