CORALVILLE - If you wanted a "bear hug", Coralville was the place to be Tuesday.

Amma, the woman known as the Hugging Saint, handed out hugs there. Hundreds waited hours for an embrace from the world renowned humanitarian.

Those waiting like Jonathan Sabin say the hug is a unique experience.

"Few people experience unconditional love in their life except for a mother with a child. It's the same type of energy that mother has for her child that Amma has unconditional universal energy and she considers everyone to be her children," said Sabin.

In the past 36 years, Amma has hugged 26 million people from all parts of the world.

She'll be in Coralville again Wednesday at the Marriot convention center starting at 10:00 a.m., then travel to the East Coast to continue her service.
