Buckling Roads Cause Travel Troubles Along I-380

HIAWATHA - It's not quite as hot as it's been recently, but the heat continues to cause trouble on Iowa roadways. The latest trouble: the pavement buckled on Interstate 380 just north of the Boyson Road exit in Hiawatha Sunday afternoon. That forced traffic down to one lane.

Roads have buckled all across Iowa in the past week. It happens when heat causes the pavement and water underneath to expand until the pavement blows out.
