The Becker family has released the following statement:
"Our family wishes to express our deepest sympathy to the Thomas family. Our community has lost a respected and loved leader, our school has lost an icon, and our church will deeply miss our Elder, Sunday School teacher and brother in Christ.
One of Ed's greatest missions since the tornado has been to speak publicly about his family, community and school's recovery from the tornado, but most of all, to share his faith in Christ.
Our family asks for prayer for the Thomas family, our community, our school, and our students as they go through the next days, weeks, and years ahead.
Ed and Jan were our brother and sister in Christ and will continue to be always. God WILL prevail."
