UPDATE: CR Woman Dies in Motorcycle Crash

CENTER POINT - A Cedar Rapids woman is dead after a motorcycle she was riding on crashed. At 10:15 Saturday night, 23-year-olds Donald Bruce and Elexia Turk, both of Cedar Rapids, were traveling north on I-380 near Center Point.

The Iowa State Patrol says a deer ran into the path of the motorcycle. Bruce tried to stop but he could not and they hit the deer.

Turk suffered severe head injuries and died at the scene. Bruce was transported to University of Iowa Hospitals. His condition is unknown at this time.

Both were not wearing helmets.
