CEDAR RAPIDS (AP) - The trial of a teenager accused of beating a Cedar Rapids police officer has been delayed until this fall.
Jose Rockiett, 17, of Cedar Rapids, is charged as an adult with first-degree robbery, willful injury causing serious injury and interference with official acts causing serious injury.
His trial, which had been set for July 27, has been continued until Oct. 5 in Linn County District Court.
Officer Tim Davis was beaten unconscious after he responded to a mugging on March 29. He was hospitalized for weeks with a head injury.
