CEDAR RAPIDS - A trip to the spa is always relaxing, but try telling that to a dog.

Sunday was Kirkwood Community Dog Wash Day.

All day dogs were getting the royal treatment -- a wash, dry and polish.

As you can probably imagine, this isn't easy work. A lot of the dogs aren't used to a scrub down and these students from Kirkwood have seen a lot of crazy things.

Mallory Alter is studying to be a Veterinarian Assistant. She says, "The dog foaming at the mouth. The owner says he does it all the time but I've never seen a dog foam at the mouth."

The students put on this event to raise money. They plan to take a trip to the Omaha Zoo in Nebraska next year.
