BLOOMFIELD (AP) - Authorities in Davis County say a fire this week led to the discovery of some 1,200 marijuana plants growing in a home north of Bloomfield.

Fire crews and sheriff's deputies arrived at the home after someone called in a report of a fire early Thursday morning, and firefighters reportedly found the plants in pots in the attic where the fire started.

Police said the home's owners, William and Lavonne Purcell, as well Charles Van Keuren, who lived on their property in a mobile home, have been charged with manufacturing a controlled substance.

Authorities say said the Purcells fled the scene during the fire and were being sought.
