Grant Co. Teen Assaulted, Escapes Attempted Abduction

By Aaron Hepker

GRANT COUNTY, WI - Authorities in Wisconsin are looking for a man who assaulted and tried to abduct a 14-year-old girl. Officials say the girl was allegedly assaulted on her parent's property in Grant County near the town of Stitzer Sunday afternoon. The girl ran from the assailant to her parent's home.

The suspect was later spotted hiding in the area where the alleged assault took place. Witnesses chased the man into a wooded area southeast of Stitzer.

Police are looking for a white male in his mid 30s or 40s. He's between 5'9" and 6'1" with short dark hair and was wearing a dark short sleeve shirt, dark jeans and tennis shoes at the time of the attack.

The Wisconsin State Patrol and several other law enforcement departments set up a search perimeter using canines, thermal imaging and airplanes to try to locate the man.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Grant County Sheriff's Department.
