CEDAR RAPIDS -- More than a month after an assault sent him to the hospital, Cedar Rapids Police Officer Tim Davis is back at home.

Officer Davis was released from St. Luke's Hospital Thursday evening. He's been in rehab there to recover from severe head injuries suffered while responding to reports of a robbery in Cedar Rapids March 29th.

His family tells KCRG-TV 9 Officer Davis is doing well and resting at home.

17 year-old Jose Rockiett will be tried as an adult for his role in the assault of Officer Davis. Two others teenagers are also charged in connection with the robbery and assault.
