Follow-up: Man Accused of Cutting Pacemaker from Father's Chest

DELAWARE COUNTY - Family members of the Delaware County man charged with trying to cut out his father's pacemaker with a pocket knife told a local newspaper he suffers from mental illness.

32 year-old Jesse Fierstine faces an attempted murder charge for the April 25th attack. Fierstine's uncle told the Waterloo Courier that Jesse suffers from bipolar disorder.

His father, Charles Fierstine, is recovering from the attack at University of Iowa Hospitals.
