CEDAR RAPIDS - Community support continues to pour in for Cedar Rapids police officer Tim Davis.
Officer Davis was assaulted while he and his partner responded to a robbery two weeks ago.
Starting Monday, the students and staff at Polk Elementary School in Cedar Rapids are holding a Penny Drive for Officer Davis.
Also available are blue "Davis 929" wristbands. Their selling for five dollars. The 929 refers to Officer Davis' identification number on the force. You can purchase these at any of the following locations including Jefferson, Kennedy, Xavier and Harding school in Cedar Rapids.
Also a benefit dinner for officer Davis is tomorrow night at 6 in the Teamsters Local 2-38 Hall on J street in Cedar Rapids. Brats, chili and desserts will be served. A $15 dollar donation is requested for the dinner.
