CEDAR RAPIDS - Additional charges have been filed against one of the three teen aged suspects arrested after a robbery and assault on a Cedar Rapids police officer.

Robert Watkins, 14, now faces assault charges for allegedly hitting a 9-year-old victim and breaking his nose.

The Gazette reports it happened in the victim's father's backyard on Sunday, March 29th, just hours before that robbery and then the assault on Officer Tim Davis.

The victim's parents say their son later recognized Watkins from a mug shot on TV.

Watkins and Maurice Harden, 15, are already in a juvenile detention center on charges of first degree robbery and interference with official acts causing serious injury.

Police believe Jose Rockiett, 17, is the one who actually assaulted Davis. He's charged with first degree robbery and willful injury.

Police say all three suspects could charged as adults.
