DUBUQUE (AP) - Officials with Dubuque Senior High School say 20 students have been suspended and more could be punished after a food fight featuring sloppy joes.

Principal Kim Swift says the incident last Friday is being described as an act of vandalism in the lunchroom, and more students, mostly seniors, could be suspended.

She says some parts of the lunchroom had to be repainted and stained ceiling tiles had to be replaced.

Swift says students have described the food fight as a senior prank, but didn't think about the consequences.

She says the incident "definitely crossed the line."

No details are immediately available on the length of the students' suspension.
