By Daren Sukhram

DES MOINES (AP) - Sentencing is scheduled for next month for a Des Moines man found guilty of killing his wife and a neighbor and taking his children hostage.

Nath Inthaboun was found guilty last week of two counts of first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of his common law wife, Bounpamh Xayavogchanh and a neighbor, Amalia Vasquez.

During the incident on Aug. 14, police say Inthaboun also shot at officers as they rushed inside a home to rescue the three children.

In addition to the murder charges, Inthaboun was found guilty of two counts of assault with intent to inflict serious injury for shooting at the officers.

He is scheduled to be sentenced April 17.
