CEDAR RAPIDS - In her first performance on Dancing with the Stars, Olympic Gold Medal Gymnast Shawn Johnson won over the judges with an elegant performance.

Johnson, 17, is the youngest performer in the show's history, and was praised by the judges for showing grace during the waltz. Her only criticism was that some of her dance moves were a bit sharp, something common of her gymnastic background.

Johnson said she was nervous, but for the crowd it didn't show as she received some of the loudest applause of the evening.

Johnson and partner Mark Ballas received a judges score of 23, out of a possible 30.
