Cedar Rapids Among Majority Approving Tax Increase

CEDAR RAPIDS - The unofficial results are in, and the majority of Linn County approved the local option sales tax increase.

Ten of the 15 voting jurisdictions passed the one cent increase, including Cedar Rapids.

That means for the 10 who said yes, the increase will go into effect April 1. The measure will last for five years. To see what each jurisdiction would use the money for click here.
