4 Shootings Reported in Month at Des Moines House
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - A weekend shooting at a Des Moines house was at least the fourth reported to police in the past month.
The Des Moines Register says a man ran into the house Saturday night after being shot in a leg. No arrests have been reported.
A police report says the house is a "known gang member hangout." Police say other drive-by shootings have occurred there as well.
Police spokesman Jason Halifax says officers respond to gunshot calls "pretty regularly" in the neighborhood, which he says is known for drug deals.
King Irving neighborhood association president Joann Muldoon says "it's taken a little bit longer than any of us would like to deal with the problem."
