GLENWOOD (AP) - One vote will make the difference for the Glenwood School District in southwest Iowa.
One absentee vote will be counted on Tuesday, and it will decide whether the issue passes or fails. The ballot was postmarked by the deadline but didn't arrive in time to be counted at the time of the election.
The Mills County auditor's office says the vote from last Tuesday's election is tied at 434.
Superintendent Stan Sibley says the proposal would give the district the authority to levy additional property taxes or income surtaxes. It's for 10 years, and would raise about $750,000. It would be used for textbooks and technology and to reduce class size.
Glenwood has about 2,100 students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.
