IOWA CITY - Iowa City police have located the 20-year-old woman they believed was missing after a night out with friends in Iowa City.

Iowa City Police were searching for Alyssa Alexandria Strittmater, 20, because they believed she had sent messages indicating she was in trouble, including one that said "911 helpme". Police in both Iowa City and Cedar Rapids were initially unable to find her or her car.

At approximately 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, Strittmater contacted the Iowa City Police Department.

She was unharmed and had not been the victim of any foul play. She stated she was unaware of the messages to the contrary.
