AP - A man in Black Hawk County Jail on charges of probation violation is being looked at as a suspect in the stabbing death of an Ackley man on August 19.

Joseph Leo Johnson was arrested Sunday night at a Waterloo home and is being held without bond on two probation violations in the Black Hawk County Jail.

Treye Blythe was stabbed to death on August 19, during a fight at a house party in Cedar Falls.

Authorities say Johnson is a person of interest in the case.

Johnson was on probation for a string of convictions, including assault with intent, criminal mischief and possession of marijuana convictions, he accrued during the past two years.

Johnson had been sentenced to community service and probation in June for the most recent charges, criminal mischief and assault with intent.

At the time he was already on probation for the marijuana violation.
