DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) - The Highway Patrol says a semi driver died of an apparent medical problem while waiting for a tow after his truck went off Interstate 94.
The patrol says Maynard Gregersen, 75, of Swea City, Iowa, lost control of the truck and it went into the median of the interstate about 5:30 a.m. Sunday. Authorities say Gregersen rocked the truck back and forth but it was stuck, so he called a tow truck.
Highway Patrol Capt. Tony Huck says Gregersen told his co-driver, who was in a sleeper berth, that he was going to rest until the tow truck arrived but when it got there, he was unresponsive.
The patrol says Gregersen was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Dickinson, where he was pronounced dead.
