CEDAR RAPIDS - The "forgot-my-lunch-money" excuse won't work any longer in the lunch line at Cedar Rapids Schools.

The district today launched an online payment service to pay for meals. Parents who sign up on a website can use credit or debit cards or put lunch money in a student's account. And the service will even let parents track how much students are spending and what they're buying to eat.

"We think a lot of families, we're hoping a lot of families will take advantage of it," said Suzy Ketelsen C.R. Food Service Manager.

The special lunch deposit is available through the Cedar Rapids School District's Website here.
