MIDWEST: Craigslist Ads Lead to Prostitution Arrests

OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) - Two Fox Cities women have been charged with misdemeanor prostitution after they offered sex for money in ads posted on Craigslist.

Marcia Perkins, 30, of Neenah and Terri Clarke, 46, of Appleton were charged Thursday in Winnebago County Circuit Court.

Criminal complaints say an undercover officer for the Oshkosh Police Department called the women after they posted ads on the online classified advertising service's Web site. The investigator later met with the women separately and paid them between $160 and $250.

The complaints say the women had begun performing sex acts when detectives who were observing the meeting from another spot entered the apartment and arrested them.

The Oshkosh Police Department declined to comment on the undercover operation.
