Pallet Piece Pierces Fort Dodge Woman's Windshield

A Fort Dodge, Iowa, woman, Cynthia Lynn Howey, 44, was treated for minor injuries after part of a pallet went through her windshield on Monday, Jan. 5, 2009. FORT DODGE (AP) - A Fort Dodge woman was hurt when a broken pallet fell from a pickup truck and crashed through her windshield.

Cynthia Howey, 44, was traveling on a city street about 11:20 a.m. on Monday when the accident happened.

Ralph Ray, 73, of Fort Dodge was traveling in the opposite direction when some of the pallets fell from his truck. One of the broken pieces pierced the windshield of Howey's car.

She was treated at a local hospital for minor cuts to her forehead and released.

Ray was charged with spilling on a highway.
