MUSCATINE (AP) - Contract talks are to resume Friday between union and management at Grain Processing Corp. in Muscatine.

A federal mediator and the two sides will discuss a contract offer proposed by United Food and Commercial Workers Local 86D in December.

Company spokeswoman Janet Sichterman has said the proposal is similar to one presented by the union in October, which GPC rejected.

About 360 workers with the union have been locked out of the plant since the labor dispute started in August.

The plant is operating with contracted employees and other existing employees who are working overtime.
