Arson Suspect Dies from Fire Related Injuries

MUSCODA, WI - The investigation into a fatal Muscoda mobile home fire is closed after the person of interest dies.

On December 27th, firefighters discovered a mobile home at 1186 STH 133 fully engulfed in flames. On arrival they found Arthur Eggert, 71, laying outside badly burned.

Mr. Eggert was taken to a local hospital and later transferred to UW Hospital in Madison, WI.

After extinguishing the blaze, Sharon Eggert, 71, was found in the home. An autopsy showed she died from the fire.

The Wisconsin State Fire Marshall's office determined the fire to be arson.

Mr. Eggert was in the home at the time of the fire, and was the focus of the arson investigation.

On January 1, Arthur Eggert died from injuries sustained from the fire; therefore the case is closed.
