IOWA CITY - In Iowa City, demonstrators hope a simple idea gets a big reaction.
People downtown could see about 15 lying on the ground covered in Lebanese flags. Organizers in several European cities have already implemented this idea to relate the death toll to others.
Demonstrator Aman Rahhal said, "This is to symbolize the genocide that has been inflicted on a whole population as a collective punishment."
In addition to the people on the ground, others stood by to tell passersby about the demonstration.
The group said the death toll in Lebanon is now nearing a thousand, most of which are civilians and many, are children.
