CEDAR RAPIDS (AP) - Five people have pleaded guilty to lesser charges in the beating of a Marion teen.

Andrew Castro, Abraham Johnson, James Kummerfeldt, Willliam Dalton and Nicholas Madison, all of Cedar Rapids, all pleaded guilty Wednesday to willful injury causing bodily injury and false imprisonment.

They are charged with taking 18-year-old Joseph Darden to a house in Cedar Rapids and tying him to a chair with belts in a basement because they thought he stole money from them during a drug deal.

According to court documents, the teens took turns punching and choking Darden for about two hours.

Darden suffered a broken nose and other broken facial bones.
