Iowa City Press-Citizen Laying Off 11 Workers

IOWA CITY (AP) - The Iowa City Press-Citizen is laying off 11 employees as part of the Gannett Co.'s plans to weather a struggling economy.

The newspaper says those losing their jobs include six full-time and five part-time employees.

Workers losing their jobs will receive a severance package based on their years of service.

The Press-Citizen is owned by Gannett, which is making staff cuts at newspapers across the country
