Man Pleads Guilty to Immigration Charge in Iowa
SIOUX CITY (AP) - A man accused of transporting illegal immigrants from Arizona to Iowa has pleaded guilty to a federal immigration charge.
The U.S. attorney's office says Jose Trujillo-Perez, of Mexico, admitted to knowingly transporting five illegal immigrants on Nov. 5.
Trujillo pleaded guilty on Tuesday to one count of transportation of illegal aliens in U.S. District Court in Sioux City.
According to the U.S attorney's office, an Iowa State Patrol trooper found the illegal immigrants when he stopped a van Trujillo was driving in Woodbury County.
Trujillo, who has been deported twice and voluntarily left the country 10 times, faces up to 10 years in prison.
