Teen Shot in Hunting Accident

WAVERLY - A 16-year-old boy is recovering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

The DNR says Mathew Allen of Dumont was with a group of hunters at Cedar Bend Park north of Waverly when the accident happened after 11 p.m. Saturday.

They say Allen was trying to help hunting dogs cross a fence when he fell, causing his holstered 22-caliber pistol to go off.
