Fans Injured After Big Hawkeye Victory

By Becky Ogann

IOWA CIT Y- After the Hawkeyes' big win over Penn State on Saturday, thousands of fans rushed the field to celebrate. And some were hurt.

Our photographer Matt Nelson saw a female fan with blood all over her face, being escorted off the field by an Iowa assistant coach.

Then, after the game, Iowa City police arrested dozen of fans for public intoxication.

"Some good sized consumption. We got complaints from businesses and restaurants of people being passed out. Patrol officers saw people who were passed out. A lot of alcohol consumption with celebration," said Sgt. Troy Kelsay, Iowa City Police Department.

TV9 also learned that one person police arrested was Dillon Carew, a senior at Iowa City West High, who has signed a letter of intent to wrestle for the Hawkeyes.
